Miniforms Itinerario V.02 collection: eleven brand-new products, new reinterpretations of the past and much more!

miniforms itinerario vol 2 collection

Among Italian historic buildings and creative leaders’ apartments, the new Itinerario V.02 collection was presented for the first time, supporting Miniforms idea of the domestic space: a place where iconic and suggestive elements always surprise.

In this occasion, Miniforms is contract-oriented, and focuses its reflections on the individual and his new way of interacting with the community. So, for example, this is how the new Marino sofa was born, Miniforms first modular bench system.

Let’s discover together other products of the new Miniforms Itinerario V.02 collection:

-Boterina armchair: A cloud with a backrest. Boterina, the smallest member of   the Botera family, is a more compact armchair that will prove agile even in less spacious settings.

-Briscola table: An ace in your kitchen. Drawing inspiration from the seventies,   Briscola is a noble revisitation of the bistro tables where card games were   played. It has the flavour of the Italian bars of yesteryear, amid coffee cups   and warm informality. The top is supported and framed by an ash-wood tray,   while the base, in black or galvanised metal, roots it firmly in the present.

-Botera sofa and pouf: All about comfort. To relax, nod off or just put your feet   up, all modules share a squishy seat in different lengths, forming a sofa, a pouf  or an armchair.  These eclectic modules are conceived for spaces that change. From the exuberance of the sofa to the casual ease of the pouf, these modules expand into their space in long compositions or contract to fill cosy nooks.

-Milonga bookshelf: Straight up and down. Milonga is a bookcase with long legs, set with a delicate cadence between spaces. Either as a partition between rooms or, more traditionally, against a wall, this is an indispensable piece for organizing your home library. As well as being technical, Milonga is bold and distinctive, and plays on the colours of the tubes and the layout of the shelves. Indeed, it is the sequence of the shelves that gives the bookcase its sense of movement, echoing the rhythm of the lines printed in the exercise books of our childhood.

-Soda coffee table: Blown away. Soda was born upside-down, with a puff of air. It weighs 20 kilos, and it is blown, drawn out and shaped by three master glassmakers. The result is a single volume of glass with three large petals forming the stem. In Soda, the glass vibrates: its tough, hammered surface fragments its transparency to give a primitive aesthetic. This is artistic value granted to an industrial product.

-Furoshiki pouf: Wrapped with care. Furoshiki is an interplay of patterns and colours. The fabric upholstery covers the padded seat with precise geometries and an unequivocally oriental delicacy. The seams become sartorial details, dividing the item into precise segments. The weave and colours of the fabrics meet and greet one another, then continue in opposite directions.

-Ozz lamp: Illuminating a story. Ozz is made of light and stone. It shifts from shy domesticity to become central to the home, proving itself a key figure, with its large, look-at-me arc. The design starts in the concrete and end in the lampshade. Between the two, the shaft curves in a dramatic trajectory until the point where the light bites the bait.

Ideas for Decorating and Empty Wall

vitra accessories collection

Some interesting ideas for decorating an empty wall using designer accessories.

vitra wall decor 1

Leaving a wall of the house completely empty could, in some cases, compromise the visual impact and harmony of a room. Especially in large rooms, if they are not palaces or period houses, it is always advisable to decorate the walls with method, using different colours, wallpaper, silk-screen printing or elegant design accessories. And it is precisely the latter ones that we will deal with in this post.

vitra wall decor 1

Wall clocks

Design accessories, such as those of Vitra, can be easily combined with any furniture and style of the house but also with any wall colour. They are miniatures of iconic furniture, colourful coat hangers or elegant and sophisticated clocks.

Tapestry rugs

Another idea we propose you is to use tapestry carpets, such as Nanimarquina’s Hayon x Nani instead of a painting. These types of accessories, made entirely by hand, are true works of art.

Acoustic panels

How about, instead, using nice acoustic panels, like the Beetle from Sancal company, to decorate the wall of your living room? The designer was inspired by the exhibition rooms dedicated to entomology and their terrifying showcases of insects…

Coat hangers

If the empty wall is located at the entrance of the house or in the hallway an idea would be to opt for a wall hanger… maybe coloured or in contrast with the colour of the wall.

Mirrors

Shelves

It’s very useful using some shelves with minimalist design to give a touch of class to the environment and also as a space-saving solution. Beautiful the aluminium model, Wogg 10 by the Swiss company Wogg.

The most innovative materials for your kitchen worktop

kitchen worktops

The most innovative materials for your kitchen worktop. Elegant and super functional worktops, thanks to the latest generation materials.

kitchen worktops

For many of us, the kitchen is the most lived-in home environment, the one where we spend the most time. Here we prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner, which means washing, shredding, kneading, seasoning, cooking and, at the end, cleaning… These are all daily activities that take place on tops and worktops that must be practical and functional, but also resistant and easy to keep clean. The market really offers a rich choice of solutions ranging from the most classic materials, but technologically enhanced, to those of the latest generation. In fact, the tops are asked not to absorb liquids, to resist scratches and abrasions, to be stain-resistant, heat-resistant and also ecological. This month we have collected for you the most innovative materials for your kitchen worktop.

Viroc material.

Among the absolute novelties in the panorama of kitchens, Viroc is a composite material obtained from a mixture of pine wood and cement. From these we obtain a strongly compressed and dehydrated amalgam.
It is a versatile product that can also be used outdoors and in spaces other than the kitchen. The panels combine the flexibility and durability of wood with the strength of cement and have a natural appearance of black or gray and uneven surface. The Viroc material can also be found in other beautiful colours such as white, yellow, red or ochre. Other characteristics of the material are its resistance to UV rays and weather conditions, its strong opacity, its odourless, fireproof and non-toxic nature. It does not contain volatile dangerous components such as asbestos or formaldehyde. An excellent material, therefore, but it is neither renewable nor biodegradable.

Paperstone material.

Another welcome new entry into the world of worktops is Paperstone. Ecological since the production phase, it is also a composite material but made of 100% recycled office paper plus water-based resins and oils obtained from cashew shells. The Paperstone worktop is pleasant to the touch and to the eye, recalling the appearance of natural stone. Among the interesting physical characteristics of Paperstone we find the strong resistance to shocks and abrasions, the fact that it is stain-resistant, water-repellent and almost acid-proof. It is also available on the market in different colors and, although derived from paper, has a strong fire resistance. Its cost is absolutely affordable.

Fenix material.

Among the technologically advanced materials, Fenix is certainly one of the most innovative and is particularly suitable for refined and modern aesthetic solutions. The use of nanotechnology during the production phase allows to obtain an external surface that, treated with acrylic resins of new generation, hardened and fixed through a special process, is resistant to wear and chromatically stable. The worktop is opaque, impact-resistant and soft-touch. The name Fenix refers to the ability to regenerate from any surface scratches thanks to the thermal repairability. Maintenance is also simple and quick: a preheated cloth is used which must be rubbed on the damaged part: the heat does the rest.

Here a demonstration of the Fenix and a particular type of ceramic resistance by Italian furniture company Miniforms

The Fenix material is, as you could see in the video, also used in the dining tables. The Italian company Miniforms offers a wide range of dining tables available with tops entirely in Fenix or in Fenix with wooden edges. Here are a few examples:

Krion material.

Krion belongs to the solid surface category of which we know the well known Corian and to which it resembles in appearance and characteristics.  It is an ecological and 100% recyclable material, obtained from a mixture of 2/3 natural minerals and high strength resins. The Krion tops are warm to the touch and recall natural stone. In addition to white, you can have it in many colors and different thicknesses. Krion panels are processed as if they were wood and, in addition, it is possible to obtain soft and curved shapes by means of heat. In addition, compared to similar materials, it is lighter and therefore versatile and is also used outdoors as a facade cladding.
Easy to clean, it is rather resistant to stains and wear, but if damaged it can also be restored using an abrasive sponge. If several pieces have to be joined, the joints are invisible, the surface has no pores and is antibacterial, making it particularly suitable for kitchen and bathroom tops.

Laminam material.

Laminam tops are characterized by their reduced thickness, being sheets of only 3 mm that are obtained from a mixture of natural raw materials. In fact, the production process requires that the basic materials, such as quarry clay, granite rocks and ceramic pigments, are wet ground and then compacted and sintered at a temperature of 1,300 °C. The thin surface produced is characterized by a high resistance to wear and tear but also to solvents or detergents. Due to its low thickness, the Laminam sheet is then glued to a plywood or cement panel. Laminam is a very aesthetically pleasing material that can be used both in the choice of colours and textures, succeeding in recalling, depending on the case, Corian, natural stones or the most up-to-date trending resins. The surface is finished to be smooth or irregular to the touch and to be opaque or semi-gloss. Beautiful, practical and functional, even if not for all pockets yet.
