Timeless design pieces of furniture. The furniture that will stay with you when all the other furniture goes into the attic.
Do you know the saying “a diamond is forever”? In your opinion, is it possible, imagining our homes, to say the same thing, that is to say that “furnishing is forever”? The question arises spontaneously when you are about to furnish your home and you are attracted by furniture inspired by the latest design trends: the fear, however, is that, in a few years, they appear outdated and unpleasant. In reality, there are timeless pieces, true classics of furniture, that escape the whirlwind of fashion and preserve their beauty over time. They are often “smart” pieces which, due to their function or small size, can, over time, be moved from one room to another or even be reinvented, but which we will never tire of.

The Console
The console is one of the eternal furnishings, present regardless of fashions and styles within each home. It is a container and, for this reason, useful and appreciated and has the ability to furnish different environments. Especially when small, we can find it at the entrance or in the corridor, in the bathroom, kitchen and, of course, in the living room. Like all classics, the console is a wild card that finds space in environments furnished with furniture of every style, which can be placed side by side with continuity or, alternatively, in contrast if you want to create a design accent.

The Bar Cabinet
Among the small pieces of furniture, the bar cabinet deserves a special mention. It is one of those objects that stands there in a corner, a little ‘forgotten, and yet has never lost its value and appeal. Proof of this is that there is no designer who does not boast a shout in his production. Whether it is modern and minimal or precious and hyper-decorated, the bar cabinet easily finds space between the sofas or next to the window, often adding a flirtatious twist to the furnishings of the entire room.

An Icon of Design
In the last twenty years we have witnessed the so-called democratization of design, which has brought objects of great design even inside the most common homes. Buying an icon of modern or contemporary design means adding quality and distinctiveness to the furniture and it is now customary to pass it from mother to child like the old window or the table of grandparents. A sixties lamp, eighties chairs or a coffee table from the year 2000 will find their place among the other furniture, perhaps beautiful, but certainly more anonymous, without ever getting tired of being admired.

The Light-Coloured Sofa
The light-coloured sofa is equivalent in its furnishings to what the black sheath dress represents for a woman’s wardrobe: a fundamental item. Whether in leather or fabric, the clarity of a white or light sofa gives warmth and spontaneous elegance to the environment and, of course, can approach different atmospheres. Excellent in both classic and contemporary environments, it loves both warm and cold colours and can be personalised and always updated in a thousand ways, playing with cushions and plaids.

The Round Table
Another piece of furniture that we can buy without worrying that in a few years we might get tired is the round table. Here, too, it doesn’t matter whether in glass or marble and with a contemporary line or in the warm dark tones of wood and with sinuous classic lines. The round table has the advantage of being comfortable where space is lacking and we can accompany it to light and informal seats as well as structured and welcoming armchairs. It is often enhanced by creating a pleasant contrast with the rest of the furniture, choosing a solid material model on a modern furniture or vice versa if you have opted for furniture in style.

Floor Lamps
For the floor lamps, the same is valid as for the bar furniture: they have always been in our homes, sometimes they seem to hide in the corners and then come back again as protagonists. Their characteristic is to be “totemic”, to have a strong sculptural presence and therefore to act as furniture. There are different types and very different shapes. And then they light up, coming in handy next to an armchair for reading, combined with a wall for those who love soft indirect light or, near the dining table or the sofa area, to replace the most common chandelier.

The Mirror
There are objects that are handed down from generation to generation to which one recognizes the ability to preserve and transmit family affections. Among these there are the furniture and among the furniture the mirror wins. Perhaps because in past centuries the mirror was a rare and expensive object, it confirms its importance even in today’s homes, often acting as a focal point. An antique or modernist mirror can easily fit into the most varied contexts, succeeding in embellishing a corner or an entire room.

The Wooden Bed
Unlike other furnishings, the purchase of the bed undermines our certainties, because you rarely buy it thinking of replacing it over time. Fear is, therefore, that soon we will tire or that it appears dated. In fact, there are many types of bed that we find on the market, regardless of the alternation of fashions. Among these we recognize to the wooden bed just for the simplicity of the lines that characterize it, the ability to coexist with any type of furniture, affirming a timeless personality. In fact, even in the case of a possible change of house, or complete renovation, the old wooden bed will still find its place as a protagonist.

The Bergère Armchair
For everyone it is the grandmother’s armchair, but it continues to be the noblest of the seats and also the coolest. It was born in the eighteenth century and, it will be for the comfort of its soft padding, has never left our homes. Perfect for reading corners is often the ideal complement to the sofa area, succeeding with its many variations to deal with every style. From the most classic version, with its high back and wide armrests, to the models designed by the most fashionable designers, the bergère never loses its fundamental features, which are the comfort of the seat and the possibility of being inserted in every room of the house.
