Optimizing the domestic spaces by “merging” the living room and the bedroom.

In modern societies there is an increase in singles and single families. The consequence is only one: the boom of all-in-one rooms.

According to the latest furnishing trends, interior designers focus on the desire to combine in a single area the bedroom and the living room, or alternatively the kitchen with the living room area.

The goal is always the same: to optimize spaces and make them more functional, adapting to the needs of an evolving real estate market characterized by the systematic increase of singles and small families looking for one and two-room apartments.

Hybrid spaces are thus born

Making the most of every single square meter becomes the dominant imperative for the so-called “unique” rooms, i.e. open space in which the spaces of the living area merge with those of the bedroom.

The must-have is the sofa bed element, used to rest during the night but also as an extra bed to accommodate relatives or friends. The new way of living the domestic spaces, which have become more and more fluid, makes the sleeping area become, little by little, the new living room where you spend on average about 70 minutes a day watching television, surfing the web or reading a book.

The hybrid spaces between bedroom and living room are also characterized by the presence of a modular wall. The chairs, then, from chairs for the living room, in many cases are also transformed into bedside tables, to be placed next to the bed.

In open space environments it is advisable to choose hybrid furniture, suitable for both the living area and the sleeping area; for example a small table that can be used as a base for remote control or cell phone, who decorates it with furnishings and flowers who simply leave it empty.
